Chris Smith brings 20 years of executive leadership in enterprise software and international manufacturing experience to CygNet. As chief executive, he is responsible for steering the company's corporate strategy and optimizing business operations.
Prior to his appointment as president and CEO, Smith served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Rustic Canyon Partners, one of the largest venture capital firms based in Southern California. During his tenure, Smith leveraged his experience as an entrepreneur and software executive to open the door to more deals, conduct due diligence reviews, and help build value for Rustic Canyon's portfolio companies and investors. Earlier, he was CEO of RiverOne, a provider of supply chain management software and services purchased by i2 Technologies. Previously, he founded and served as president and CEO of Efinity Inc., a recognized vendor of supply chain solutions to the electronics industry.
Smith holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from North Carolina's Wake Forest University.
A co-founder of CygNet, Jeff Brady is currently Executive Vice President and CTO of CygNet. He is responsible for shaping the company's technology agenda and oversees all phases of product design.
Before assuming his present position, Brady was a senior programmer for PG&E's Applied Technology Services Group, where he played an instrumental role in the development of PG&E's Distributed Network Architecture (DNA). Brady also served as power production engineer, where he was responsible for the Plant Information Management System (PIMS) and Diablo Canyon start-up planning and scheduling.
Brady graduated from the University of Illinois with Bachelor's Degrees in Math and Computer Science. He was also a commissioned officer in the U.S Navy.
Steve Robb is vice president of business development and marketing at CygNet. In this role, he oversees the creation and execution of key strategic programs that drive market awareness, customer adoption and partner programs for CygNet's enterprise operations platform software and industry solutions. Robb has more than 20 years of industry experience and has authored numerous articles for leading industry publications.
Prior to CygNet, Robb spent 13 years leading sales of automation and real-time enterprise data management solutions to the utility, energy and environmental industries. During his tenure, Robb led the successful entry into two new market segments and negotiated key agreements with Fortune 500 Energy companies.
Robb has completed extensive business and technical coursework at Canada's Niagara College, Mohawk College, and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Technology. He holds certifications from the Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), as well as the Alberta Society of Engineering Technicians and Technologists (ASET).
As vice president of sales and professional services, Mike Hill brings more than 18 years of sales experience and enterprise software portfolio management background to the task of leading CygNet's global sales and professional services teams.
Prior to CygNet, Hill held a number of executive positions at Invensys Process Systems (IPS) where as vice president of Asia-Pacific sales, he led the sales organization through 2008. While at IPS, Hill also served as vice president of solutions, Asia-Pacific, leading the organization to a 106 percent growth rate in fiscal year 2007. Prior to IPS, he held the role of vice president at SimSci Americas, where he achieved a growth rate of 160 percent in fiscal year 2006. Hill also held a number of sales and engineering management positions at Process Systems Enterprise Limited, AspenTech, Bionetrix, Simulation Sciences and Parsons Engineering.
Hill received his Bachelor of Science Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Kevin Rowley brings 25 years of experience in the development of enterprise-level software products for the manufacturing and process industries. As vice president of engineering, Kevin is responsible for leading the research and development team in the execution of the company’s product development strategy.
Prior to joining CygNet, Kevin held a number of senior leadership positions at the Wonderware unit of Invensys, where he was most recently director of quality assurance for the company’s supervisory control and HMI products. Prior to that role, he held several management and technical leadership positions including a key role as lead architect on the company’s next generation supervisory control platform. Prior to Invensys, Kevin was a lead engineer at Chevron Research and Technology, responsible for the design and implementation of SCADA systems within Chevron’s domestic refinery and pipeline operations.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Doug Rauenzahn is the director of product management. He is responsible for the company's product strategy execution and portfolio management.
Prior to his current role, Rauenzahn lead CygNet's driver development team implementing numerous development process improvement initiatives. Before joining CygNet, Rauenzahn was a software engineering lead at Hewlett-Packard working on the HPUX operating system and enterprise backup software and solutions.
Rauenzahn earned a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
